Recently, I was talking with my mom about couples who part ways for a while, then come back together years later and live happily ever after. "Well that's rare," she said to me, and I nodded silently, but started to think... I've had no less than 3 couples... maybe 4 in the last YEAR that this happened to. I really feel like things happen for a reason, and if things are meant to be, then they will somehow work themselves out. Humans spend so much time fighting against their circumstances, and trying to mold or shape their worlds into something they THINK they want or need, when really, everything that will let you be at peace is right there. The real struggle is finding it, and letting it happen. I'm not saying to be lazy or not fight for what you believe in or who you love, but I think that sometimes, as the old song goes, you have to "Let It Be". "For though they may be parted There is still a chance that they will see There will be an answer, let it be"
Ashley and Adam dated in high school, parted ways in college, but made it back together again years later. I always think that if they had fought to stay together, they may not have had the chance to grow into the people they are today, and the couple they are today, and the couple they will be in the future. I am so happy Kate & I got to be a part of their special day to celebrate the love and first day of the rest of their lives together. <3
