As mentioned in my previous post, I love shooting at night. This session with Jess and Jason was no exception. This was their 2nd engagement shoot (they wanted to have two for two different looks) - check out their first here. You can see that these are sort of opposite to the daytime Leroy Oakes adventure. One thing I didn't mention before about night shooting is the cinematic quality it has. I feel like certain images could be scenes from a movie. It really adds to the dramatic feeling that comes out of the photos. There is also a grittiness. Shooting at night lends itself to shooting at higher ISO's (take my Beginners Photography Class if you don't know what ISO means), which adds to the "noise" (used to be called "grain" in the days of film, sigh), giving a texture to the image - a dirtiness. Sexy!
OK, so while we were shooting Jess & Jason's photos, I swear, someone walked by and said "what are they doing?" and someone else said "they must be modeling" - I told Jason that but I don't think he believed me. But they are a super hot couple, and this night shoot really brought out their inner models, if you ask me. :)
Jess & Jason are already married, they got married a few weeks ago - yes, I was there! But those are yet to come. For now, enjoy these and their other photos, and enjoy this weekend. Stay safe, and dress fantastically! See you Tuesday, lovelies. <3
